WHAT IS ECHOLASER TPLA?
TransPerineal Laser Ablation
The new micro-invasive office-based treatment for BPH. An alternative to major surgery or other transurethral techniques.
No prostate tissue removal: laser energy is applied directly inside the prostate to obtain a significant reduction of the prostate. Thus preserving its anatomy & functionality.
Echolaser TPLA is a treatment that uses a Transperineal approach, avoiding traumatic interactions with the urethra/bladder and avoiding the complications often associated with other Transurethral approaches.
BENEFITS: IMPROVED QUALITY OF LIFE
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Echolaser TPLA procedure involves the insertion of multiple ultra-thin needles through the skin in the perineal area (between the anus and scrotum), directly into the prostate.
It is the only BPH therapy in the office guided by real-time ultrasound imaging. The needles precisely position tiny laser fibers within the prostate, according to an ultrasound-guided plan customized to each patient. The laser fibers then deliver targeted heat to ablate (destroy) only the affected prostate tissue, leaving surrounding healthy tissue intact.
Over time, your body naturally reabsorbs the treated tissue, which reduces prostate size while preserving normal urinary function and quality of life. The procedure is typically performed in an outpatient setting, allowing you to return home the same day.
